Important Shipping Update for Benchdog Tools Customers: Changes to the $800 De Minimis Entry Threshold (U.S. Orders Only)

At Benchdog Tools, we want to ensure you're informed about important changes that may affect your orders shipped to the United States. Starting from 12:01 AM on August 29th, the current $800 de minimis threshold, which allows U.S. customers to receive shipments without incurring additional customs duties, will be eliminated. This means that all orders—including product cost and shipping—will now be subject to duties and taxes.

Please note that orders must clear U.S. customs prior to the August 29th deadline to avoid being impacted by the new rules. Once the shipment has left Benchdog Tools, we have no control over any delays that may occur, which could affect whether your order arrives before the deadline.

While we strive to provide a smooth shopping experience, we want to make sure you're aware of how this change could impact your orders.

What Is the $800 De Minimis Threshold?

The de minimis threshold refers to the value under which U.S. customers can receive imports without paying extra duties or taxes. Currently, this threshold stands at $800, but starting August 29th at 12:01 AM, this exemption will no longer apply.

Why Is This Important for Your Orders?

From August 29th onwards, all orders will be subject to tariffs and customs duties. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that these duties will not apply, as the situation remains uncertain, and the rules may evolve.

Here’s what this means for your Benchdog Tools orders:

  • Orders Must Clear Customs Before August 29th: To avoid being impacted by new tariffs, your order must pass through U.S. customs before the August 29th, 12:01 AM deadline.

  • Potential Delays: Orders may face delays as they pass through customs after this date.

  • Possible Tariffs: All orders will now be subject to customs duties.

  • No Control Over Shipping Delays: Once the shipment has left Benchdog Tools, we have no control over any delays that may occur, which could impact whether your order arrives before the August 29th deadline.

How You Can Ensure a Smooth U.S. Order Experience

To reduce the likelihood of additional charges and delays, here are some helpful tips:

  1. Place Orders in Advance: To ensure that your order passes through U.S. customs before the new rules take effect, we recommend placing your order as early as possible.

  2. Double-Check Your Order Total: Before completing your purchase, verify that the total—product cost plus shipping—does not result in higher duties.
