1. Definitions

  • Company: Benchdogs Ltd, Unit 1, Walronds Park, Isle Brewers, Taunton, TA3 6QP, United Kingdom.
  • Goods: Items offered for sale on our website.
  • Orders: Requests made by you to purchase Goods from us.
  • Service: The website benchdogs.co.uk and any other services we provide.
  • You: The individual accessing or using the Service, or the company or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service.

2. Your Right to Cancel

You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period will expire 14 days after:

  • For services: the day of the conclusion of the contract; or
  • For sales contracts: the day on which you, or a third party indicated by you (other than the carrier), acquire physical possession of the goods.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision to withdraw from the contract by means of a clear statement (for example, by email, post or the online form found here.

Effects of Withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse all payments received from you, including the costs of standard delivery (except for any additional costs resulting from your choice of a delivery method other than the least expensive standard delivery offered by us).

Reimbursements will be made without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed of your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise.

For sales of goods, we may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is earlier. You must send back the goods without undue delay and, in any event, no later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract.

You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.

Exceptions
The right of withdrawal does not apply where exclusions or exceptions under applicable EU consumer protection laws apply, including but not limited to:

    • Goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised.
    • Sealed goods not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons, once unsealed after delivery.
    • Digital content is not supplied on a tangible medium where performance has begun with the consumer's prior express consent and acknowledgement that the right of withdrawal is thereby lost.
    • Other exceptions provided by applicable law.

3. Refunds

We will process your refund no later than 14 days from the day we receive the returned Goods. We will use the same payment method you used for the original transaction, and you will not incur any fees for the refund.

4. Conditions for Returns

To be eligible for a return, please ensure that:

  • The Goods were purchased within the last 14 days.
  • The Goods are in their original packaging and condition.

Exclusions from Returns:

  • Goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised.
  • Goods that deteriorate rapidly or have passed their expiry date.
  • Goods that are not suitable for return due to health or hygiene reasons, if unsealed after delivery.
  • Goods that, after delivery, are inseparably mixed with other items.

We reserve the right to refuse returns that do not meet these conditions.

Sale items are non-refundable unless required by law.

6. Return Shipping Costs

You are responsible for the cost and risk of returning Goods to us. Please send the Goods to the following address:

  • Please include your name and order number with the return.
  • We recommend using a trackable and insured shipping method. We are not responsible for Goods damaged or lost in return shipment. We cannot issue a refund without actual receipt of the Goods or proof of return delivery.

7. Condition of Returned Goods

Returned Goods should be in the same condition as you received them. Suitable packaging should be used to prevent damage during transport. Damaged items due to improper packaging will result in a reduced refund or no refund. In such cases, the items will be returned to you at your expense, and failure to cover the return shipping cost may result in disposal of the Goods.

8. Processing of Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, you will be refunded to your original payment method within 10 business days. Please allow additional time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.

9. Delayed Refunds

If more than 15 business days have passed since we approved your return and you have not received your refund, please contact us at contact@benchdogs.co.uk.

10. Failed Deliveries

If an order is returned to us due to failed delivery, reshipping will incur additional charges. If you choose to cancel your order, the original shipping costs will not be refunded.

11. Process for lost/damaged parcels

Unfortunately, there are occasions when parcels may be lost or damaged in transit. In such cases, we are required to follow a specific claims process set by our couriers.

To proceed with a claim, we need photographic or video evidence clearly showing the external packaging and any damage to the product(s). We understand this may be inconvenient, but it is a requirement from the courier and essential for processing the claim. Please ensure this evidence is provided within 24 hours of receiving the parcel.

If the parcel appears visibly damaged upon delivery, we recommend either refusing the delivery or signing for it as “damaged” to support the claim.

Replacements will be sent once the courier has approved the claim. Please note that this may take some time, and we are unable to send replacements until we receive confirmation from the courier.

In some cases, products may be damaged in transit even if the outer packaging shows no visible signs of damage. We do not dispatch second-hand or used items unless you have specifically purchased a “seconds” product from our website.

12. Inaccurate Products

If you believe one of our products is inaccurate, it must be returned to us for inspection within 30 days of receiving your order. The initial return shipping cost is the customer’s responsibility.

  • If the product is outside of our stated tolerances:
    We will refund your return shipping cost and cover the cost of sending a replacement or corrected item back to you.
  • If the product is within tolerance:
    No refund for shipping will be issued, and you will be responsible for the cost of having the item returned to you.
  • If outside the 30-day window:
    All return shipping costs are solely the customer’s responsibility, regardless of outcome.

When returning a product, please ensure it is securely packaged and insured against damage in transit.

13. Gifts

  • If Goods were marked as a gift at the time of purchase and shipped directly to you, you will receive a gift credit for the value of the return. A gift certificate will be mailed to you upon receipt of the returned product.
  • If the Goods were not marked as a gift or if the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will issue the refund to the gift giver.
