The bevel square, also known as a bevel gauge or sliding bevel, is a versatile measuring and marking tool used primarily in woodworking and metalworking.
The blade of our bevel square is 1.5mm of stainless steel for precise markings without the parallax often found with thicker blades. An aluminium handle in a fixed position is attached to the blade, with the other end machined to a point. The blade is also laser marked with an mm scale, allowing for precise angle measurements to be taken and set accurately.
To use a bevel square, the knurled thumbscrew has loosened the handle allowing the handle to slide freely along the groove. The desired angle is then set by aligning the blade with the scale or by using other reference angles. Once the desired angle is achieved, the blade is tightened to lock into position.
Bevel squares are commonly used for a variety of tasks, including marking and transferring angles, setting up machinery or tools at specific angles, and creating bevelled or angled cuts in woodworking or metalworking projects. They are essential tools for achieving precision and accuracy.
The blade also has our unique mm slots laser cut for mm perfect parallel markings from 1mm up to 128mm.
To finish the blade, we bead blast to give our matt finish, allowing the markings to be more visible in illuminated areas.
The square is also made to fit in the space of the SS Squares Systainer set. This set can be found Here.
