Product Description

Easy Access Track Hinge

The Benchdog Hinge Dogs system is a smart solution for anyone working in tight spaces. It allows your guide track to hinge open, giving you effortless access to place or remove your workpiece without having to lift or remove the track entirely. Perfect for setups where your work table sits close to a wall, the Hinge Dog makes working in confined spaces much easier.

Designed to work seamlessly with our fence system, it enables the hinge track connector to sit close to your fence while maintaining full functionality and stability.

Setting up is simple: when positioning the dogs with your workpiece, tighten the grub screw once the track is seated on the workpiece. This makes setup quick, precise, and hassle-free.

The Hinge Dog is available in 95mm and 65mm height versions. We initially introduced the 95mm version, followed by the 65mm option for customers who did not have sufficient clearance beneath their MFT top to accommodate the taller model. The 65mm version can cut material up to 25mm thick, which is more than sufficient for most sheet goods.

Compatible with the following tracks

Festool, Makita, Milwaukee, Kreg, Excel & Triton

Cutting Widths

With regards to cutting width on our Ultra MFT Workstation, you can achieve a maximum cross-cut of 600mm on one table; this can be extended if outriggers are attached.

Great little gadget

Great little gadget.
Super space saving compared to a regular hinge for the track.Well thought through and practical to use.
Quality control could be better: both dogs had a pretty tough burr at the end of the set screw thread where the screw is supposed to pinch the height adjustment rod. I had to remove with my dremel tool.

Design change

Hinge dogs are a good idea, but there is too much lateral movement in the dogs.I think if the dogs were longer, with the end below the bench being threaded,a nut could secure the dog tightly to the bench top from the underside...

Less is More

I purchased these on the strength of Ralphs demo, illustrating their compatibility with a small workspace. which after watching Ralphs demo, i was immediately sold! I found the original Orange clips from another company too shabby so i upgraded to Ralph's.

However... They are too fussy for me and i found myself becoming rather irritable during the removal and setting the height. The Gnarled knob placement flirted with my patience and when i'm dealing with the placement that is too close to the MFT Top, i'm trying not to lose my marbles with the amount of Allen keys i have to use.
The grub screws have destroyed my Festool track, leaving indentations all over it. They definitely need some rubber on the ends. (This is possible because the replacements that i bought from someone else have them)

Honestly, i just don't want to have to reach for these every time I need to adjust, it's time consuming. I have since purchased another brand and they are flawless. I don't want to name anyone because that wouldn't be fair, however, if you was to redesign your Hinge dogs with Zero tools needed to adjust with simple removability, I think you would be onto a winning product.

Sorry BD UK. i'm not sold on these at all. I wish i could send them back but i've used them, so i will have to sell them on, as they are too frustrating to use. (FOR ME)

Please try to appreciate my review as constructive criticism that could help solve these inflections.

Too much wobble

I really wanted to like these dogs, but they wobble a lot. I've checked the same dog holes and other dogs fit snug. But these dogs are so tall even on some of the lower settings, the side pressure put on them by swinging the rail up and down causes too much wobble to get good accuracy. They could really improve this product if they used the Quad dog concept of expanding O-rings for a nice tight fit.
