Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review ā we genuinely appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to clarify this for you.
For context, genuine Festool MFT tops are typically manufactured with hole diameters of approximately 20.1 mm rather than a true 20 mm. Because of this slight tolerance difference, dogs made to suit a precise 20 mm bore can feel slightly loose in some MFT tops.
Our dogs are machined to fit accurate 20 mm holes (as we state in the description) to ensure a tight, repeatable, and square reference. If holes were a true 20 mm, O-rings would not be required. The O-rings are specifically there to compensate for slightly oversized holes and to provide a snug, stable fit where minor manufacturing tolerances exist.
If the dogs are still noticeably loose even with the O-rings fitted, this would suggest the holes may be outside of normal specification. In that case, it would be worth checking the hole diameter and potentially contacting the supplier regarding a replacement top. we of course do manufacure the tops and are on our website if you are looking for a precision top for your workflow.
We hope this explanation helps, and if you would like any further assistance, please donāt hesitate to get in touch ā weāre always happy to help.
